The Future of Work virtual reality lab

Announcement:

Virtual Reality can be used as a tool in the workplace, offering new opportunities for recruitment, soft and hard-skills training and collaborative working. The Center for Leadership in the Future of Work has been selected as a recipient of a grant from Digitalization Initiative of the Zurich Higher Education Institutions, a government initiative aimed at supporting the economy and society.

The grant will fund a Future of Work Virtual Reality Lab (FoW VR Lab), dedicated to exploring whether and how virtual reality technologies can be used to improve the world of work for people. It will do so by:

  • promoting research on the use of VR for work (e.g., remote collaboration);

  • enabling new approaches to conducting research with VR;

  • testing the potential of VR as a learning tool;

  • offering new, more immersive opportunities for people innovators to meet, engage, and learn through VR.

The Lab will invite broad academic participation and collaboration with practitioners across the HR Valley. It will be operational in 2022.
